No-one's going to invest in LightWave, unless that someone is emotionally passionate about LW. But this will require years and years of work. Too far behind compared to the competition and in dire need of a consolidation of Modeler and Layout into one whole. LightWave's become a money pit at this point. It is a lost cause against the open source tsunami. And the competition will be even further ahead by then. If a new version is released, it will be LW 2024, or so. With no active development team, the forecast for the arrival of a next version of LightWave in the foreseeable future is. They all left, were let go, retired, or moved to other positions in the company to work on other stuff.
